The CAPRA Platform aims to strengthen institutional capacity for disaster risk assessment and communication and has been managed and owned by Uniandes (Universidad de los Andes) since 2017. It provides a series of tools for hazard (single and multiple unrelated), exposure and vulnerability assessment that can be used standalone, or integrated in the probabilistic risk assessment software: CAPRA-GIS. The hazard module includes software applications for geological (earthquake, tsunami, volcano), hydrogeological (drought, flood, hurricane) and climate change hazard assessment. The exposure module consists of a data entry software for collection of information about infrastructure potentially exposed to a hazard. Vulnerability modules enable users to develop vulnerability curves for each hazard class and asset, which are required for the probabilistic risk assessment.
