One objective of the MYRIAD-EU project was to promote a common understanding of terminology and concepts related to multi-hazard, multi-risk management within the project consortium, and beyond to the wider community.  This was achieved through the creation of a Handbook of Multi-Hazard, Multi-Risk Terms, Definitions and Concepts, which we adopt in this wiki. This is an evolving work that will continuously be updated throughout the project. We welcome inputs from across the disaster risk management community.
The definitions follow established glossaries, including the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) '''[https://www.undrr.org/terminology terminology for disaster risk reduction]''', where possible. Definitions for specific terms and concepts applied in the project were sourced from the wider literature or created by the MYRIAD-EU project consortium. In all cases definitions are constructed for general usage and are not sector specific.

This page contains the definitions of multi-hazard, multi-risk terminology adopted by the MYRIAD-EU project. They were compiled during the creation of the Handbook of Multi-Hazard, Multi-Risk Terms, Definitions and Concepts (Work Package 1), which was developed to promote a common understanding of terminology and concepts within the project consortium and the wider community. It is an evolving work that will continuously be updated throughout the project.

The definitions follow established glossaries, including the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) terminology for disaster risk reduction, where possible. Definitions for specific terms and concepts applied in the project were sourced from the wider literature or created by the MYRIAD-EU project consortium. In all cases definitions are constructed for general usage and are not sector specific.

We welcome inputs from across the disaster risk community.
